US Podengo Specialty May 5, 2007The 5th Annual USA Podengo Specialty Show hosted by the Portuguese Podengo Club of America (PPCA) was held May 5th in Matamoras, Pennsylvania in conjunction with Rarities Tri-State Roundup. The weekend featured five shows. The Podengo Specialty was judged by Vitor Veiga, international judge, author of The Portuguese Podengo, President of the Podengo Club of Portugal, hunter and attorney.
The weekend had lots of fun events, including a best costume contest led by Manny! It was a great get-together for many Porto Novo Podengos, who did very well at the various competitions. Bacalhau de Viamonte (Bucky) won an amazing Best Jr. Puppy in Show as well as Best of Breed and Winners Dog in a two shows. The other three Winners Dogs were won by former Porto Novo Podengos Rico, Icaro do Vale Negro, and Zangao de Viamonte. Sericaia won Best of Breed in three of the five shows and Winners Bitch in four of the five shows.
Hats off to our Bucky (Bacalhau de Viamonte) and Caia (Sericaia do Vale Negro) for their great wins and to all of the Podengos in the shows!
