Stages of Gustava GObama

Stages of Gustava GObama
Gus at two days with Mama Caia. Born on Election day she is named Gustava GObama.
This section will show the development of Gus from birth, with an entry each week. She is a smooth coat of of two wire Pequenos, each of whom have considerable smooth Podengos in their backgrounds.

She was 7 ounces at birth, a tad on the large side. Her color is dark and will lighten up as she develops.

Caia is a very good mother.

Buddha baby!
We call little Gus Buddha baby as she is so relaxed and sleeps mostly on her back. Quite a fatso too - gaining an ounce a day. We keep her room at 82 degrees for the first ten days.

Two Weeks

Two Weeks

Gus has dark circles around her eyes, a white tip on her tail (good luck!) and is increasingly mobile. Very interesting to watch.

Three Weeks

Three Weeks
Gus is quite mobile and plays with her toys. She is steadily gaining weight and is very responsive to human voices, loving to be picked up and cuddled.

Four Weeks

Four Weeks

Gussie has gone for the gerbil-looking stage to Podengo like, big changes. Her ears are starting to go up and her teeth are almost all in.

Five Weeks

Five Weeks
Very active! Plays with Caia, who is starting to avoid her nursing with that set of very sharp teeth. Baby Gus is eating some organic kibble and free range roast chicken with shredded organic cheese now. Ears are up.

Six Weeks

Six Weeks
Gussie is 3 lb., eats four meals a day, has turned into a real sweet smooth coat Podengo, and loves to pose for holiday photos to show off her new necklace. This is a very easy going girl! She LOVES to play with her dad Schwartz, who is very lively yet gentle with her.

Seven Weeks

Seven Weeks

Little Gobama girl is so much fun. We took her out to Newport for the holiday, where she was nicely social with children, adults and big dog Jack. She is such a delight!

Five Months!

Five Months!
Gustava GObama got nicknamed Ruby by my daughter Liz. It suits the little Podengo, her coat is red and it is a much more feminine name than Gus. She is the most outgoing Podengo ever -- loves people, dogs, is fun loving and very smart.
