Ginja was born July 5, 2001 in Leiria, Portugal, grew up in Newport, Rhode Island, lives in London, England with Marilyn's daughter Liz and husband Bob. Ginja travels about the countryside and the continent frequently -- quite the little jet setter! She is named after a sweet liqueur made from local cherries that we had in the walled town of Obidos on our first trip to Portugal in early 2001.
Pretty little Ginja was our second Podengo after Manny. She and Manny had a big, smart daughter named Amor, because she was born on Valentine's Day. Ginja is very shy but also very smart and bossy. She fell in love with our daughter, Liz, so she went to live in London, England with her and her husband Bob. She is the boss of the home and plays many interesting games with her family. She especially loves to hide her ears when she sees the camera. She is quite the character!
Ginja enjoys her walks in the country, but most of all loves keeping the yard squirrel free.
