CH Sericaia do Vale Negro (Caia)
First Best in Show Podengo in America!

Born March 4, 2004, Estoril, Portugal

Caia is from the famous Vale Negro kennel of Carla Molinari in Estoril, Portugal. Known for dogs of good temperament and conformation, we hope to continue the fine traits of the Vale Negro bloodline here in the United States with Sericaia and Delico Doce do Vale Negro.

Caia is our outgoing, sweet Podengo watchdog, ever alert to the mail lady or any other persons coming on the property. She will also run to me out in the yard when the indoor phone rings to make sure I pick it up. Her senses of sight, sound, and scent are amazing!

On August 5, 2006, Sericaia do Vale Negro won Best in Show at the American Rare Breed Association's New England Classic. She is the first Portuguese Podengo in the United States to achieve this award. A few weeks later, she achieved her ARBA championship, winning Best of Breed in two shows that day. She recently won Podengo Pequeno Best of Breed in the 5th Annual National Podengo Specialty.

HURRAH!

On May 6, 2007, Caia earned her Certificate of International Championship, having completed both her American Championship and Canadian Championship and is officially recorded as an International Champion of Record by Rarities Inc. and the North American Kennel Club. You go girl!

Caia had her first litter, two beautiful girls, on November 3, 2007. See more of them on our puppies pages.
