Dad's Team
Showing and competing with dogs is a sport that requires good teamwork. It is called "The Sport of Dogs" for a reason. This is something I have always advocated in the Podengo world. I think my sense of sportsmanship comes from being raised by a professional sportsman -- baseball player, coach, and much more. He is now 94 y.o. and has added Podengos to his life in the last years.
This photo was taken in October 1947 of Joe DiMaggio's Major and Minor League All-Stars. Joe is first on the left on the bottom row and my father is second from the right in that row. His friends and team mates Bob Repass, Snuffy Stirnweiss, Milt Rosner, Fred Davi, Bob Sperry, Randy Gumpert, Jimmy Sheehan, Carl Furillo, and Red Sheehan are also in the photo.
