The coyote looked like this one
Coyote Love

Had my first coyote sighting this morning. Amalia, who is in season, was out in the yard running up and down alongside the fencing, barking and on high alert. As she ran, I saw beyond the fence that the reeds were parting, keeping time with her movement, and thought a raccoon must be running parallel to her. Soon enough, a large coyote (not a raccoon!) popped out of the tulles and ran onto our dock, sanding still and staring right at Amalia. When he heard me approach, he jumped off and ran away. Interesting, as I've been hearing that the coyotes are repopulating lands they were last seen in more than a century ago. Must have been those strong pheromones that Mali seems to emit during her heat cycle, she is such a character!
